Traks
Traks1 are Gobíls inhabiting the Dakrúzú Peninsula, the southernmost part of the Dragonían continent. They are divided into numerous tribes, most of which are nomads to avoid frequent volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and landslides which plague the region, though a few towns exist as well where there's plenty of resources, such as obsidian, gold or Ember Trees.
Shamans in nomadic tribes usually have a single apprentice, while those in towns have several, mostly daughters from esteemed families who compete for becoming the shaman's successor.
History
Traks are mostly descended from the earliest waves of Kóhans -Gobíls who settled in the western Múlíat Mountains- who expanded much further south than the other tribes, and were later separated from their brethren as the Znagrúk Empire came to rule the area connecting the peninsula to the rest of the highlands. The northern tribes occasionally trade with the Znagrúks, offering precious stones, metals and other minerals in exchange for dried fish, mead, dyes and wood.Society
Matriarchy and polyandry are the norm among Traks, as in all Gobíl cultures, though unlike their cousins, Traks rarely keep slaves. Each tribe is lead by a female shaman, who through observation and understanding of the flow of magic can sense impending natural disasters and thus get their people to safety in time. They are also responsible for keeping order within their tribe and for deciding when to give offerings to the gods.Shamans in nomadic tribes usually have a single apprentice, while those in towns have several, mostly daughters from esteemed families who compete for becoming the shaman's successor.

Apparel
Trak clothing consists of tunics (both simple and wraparound-type), loincloths and cloaks variously made from wool or hides, often adorned with fringes or small bone- or obsidian beads. Scarification is practiced in certain tribes, usually as an initiation ritual for shamans.1Original icelandic: Trakar, singular: Traki.
