Vaakrías
Mlúkrok: Vaakrí
Vaakrías1 are large, six-legged lizards found along the southeastern coast of Vorran Peninsula and Jarrak Forest in western and southwestern Dragonía, though their range once extended all the way to the coast of Sjorg Desert further east until overhunting by the Óraxes lead to their extinction there.
Young and female vaakrías spend most of their time underwater, hunting for fish in the reefs of Ilkigit Sea and only briefly visiting dry land each year to lay eggs in the sand. The males, on the other hand, guard their mate's nest and protect the hatchlings against predators as they scurry to the sea, during which they don't even leave in search for food but instead rely on fat reserves in a hump on their back, and only return underwater when all this is done or if the nest is destroyed.

Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Vaakrías and their eggs are sometimes eaten by the Kroks of Vorran Peninsula or júhrens -bipedal wolves related to Þóvaríans- of southern Jarrak Forest. Among the Kroks in the territory of Kveb on the southeastern peninsula, vaakría eggs are a seasonal delicacy enjoyed only by adults, while in the neighbouring territory of Velk-í, vaakría skin is sometimes used to make traditional drums or traded with the Jaarels
in exchange for rare goods.
