Velk-í
Mlúkrok:
Velk-í /vɛ:lkh i:/ is the easternmost territory of the Kroks on the Vorran Peninsula in western Dragonía, and among the most powerful, especially after first contact and subsequent trade was established with the Jaarels centuries ago. It's bordered by the Vúrakesen Mountains -home of the Jaarels- to the north and east, Ilkigit Sea to the southeast, and the territories of Kveb, Naþvotere, Melerkún and Varr to the south and Íberral to the west.
The Kroks made their first camp on the peninsula where Velk-í is now located after crossing the Vúrakesen Mountains, which became their earliest permanent settlement, known as Túvalren, but was eventually abandoned as new towns and villages were founded at more favorable locations. Túvalren has since become an important part of local folklore, believed to have been where Kroks first encountered the spirits of the land, who taught them how to survive in their new home in exchange for being shown proper respect.
Initially covering the area near the west bank of upper Þvan River, Velk-í has gradually expanded over the course of millennia as neighbouring villages joined the territory due to its prestige, even if it means having to cross rivers and swamps for the annual tribal gatherings at Parleb. More recent contact with the Jaarels has led to the rise of new towns to accommodate trade with the them, most notably Tel, Satvún and Þverral near caves leading to the Jaarel subterranean city-states of Valún, Beknal and Júkvolan.
