The gods of ___, as the people of the world know them, were once powerful humanoids and creatures elevated to the level of godhood through divine intervention. Many of them belonged to the a familial pantheon of gods who ruled over the lands as its god-king, queen, and noble children. However, in the age after the ___, the gods can no longer manifest or act physically, now restrained and thought long dead by the majority of the lands. Nevertheless, small miracles occur across the world. Long-lived peoples remember the worship of the gods and see their shapes in nature and the constellations above. Ancient, forgotten sanctuaries hold wonders beyond imagination, and divine whispers reach those with the minds and hearts to listen. people of faith believe that divine forces shape everyday life. Shared beliefs unite communities and can provide hope in difficult times. The gods haven’t wholly abandoned ___, their forms are yet immobilized or inured due to the ___ and thus they are unable to act despite residing in and around the mortal realm. Thus, the gods patiently watch their creations from beyond the veil, lending what small power they can send through the gate to aid the goals of their faithful. And as threats grow, mortals turn to them once more—sometimes after a remarkable encounter with a messenger of the gods.
But what harbored this divine power that blessed the gods of ___? These gods were not always the powerful beings they are now, even if they are now paralyzed of injury or restrained by other forces. What elevated these once mortal beings to a divine level through rituals or otherworldly gifts during the age of ___? In the wake of a war that killed the idea of gods on ___, the answer is quite simple yet something unbelievable for the commoners of the land: that even greater divine beings exist outside of this worlds scope, blessing mortals in order to use them as vessels for their wills. These otherworldly creatures are known as the outer gods, abstract beings who in order to spread their divine wills declared mortals on ___ as their vassals. These inner gods gained unbelievable powers through the cosmic intervention bestowed upon them, and in exchange all that was required of them was to bless these lands with the wills of the cosmos.
Outside of the distinction between the inner and outer gods, the gods of ___ loosely align with one another along the principles of good, neutrality, and evil. While such alliances can be tenuous, the gods often work together to enact their shared will across the world or to oppose unions of their foes. Most notably are the Alloyed Host, which includes the leaders and luminary creators that battled the Primordials and instigated the Founding, each member belonging to the same family tree. They represent a spectrum of light, protection, love, death, and all other facets of freedom, order and life in the world. While some gods may disagree and squabble, they exist in a subtle alliance to maintain the sanctity of their order.
