Battle of Kazusho

This battle took place during the Fifth Valk-Gryv War and is considered by many to be the turning point of the war. Prior to this Battle the Kingdom of Gryvane and their allies from the Ivaruna Empire were thought by many to be losing the war in general. After this battle, the tides had turned.   Many experts contend that, while the losses sustained by the Valkynd Empire were impactful, the battle was not as important to the outcome of the as the change in tactics employed by Gryvane. Prior to this battle Gryvane Nobility had insisted on requisitioning the Tank Battalions away from the Ivarunian Armored Divisions and haphazardly to their own Infantry Divisions to attempt offensive actions, while tasking the Mechanized Infantry Battalions (designed for Maneuver Warfare) to man the static defensive positions. The Nobility insisted on using these plans for this Battle, however, they were later convinced to withdraw the 3rd and 4th Armored Divisions from the city and re-attach their tanks. Those two Divisions would spearhead a daring pincer attack to cut off the Valkynd forces and allow for a large scale follow-up offensive. These historians point out that when allowed to function as designed, the Ivarunian Imperial Guard were able to steadily push the frontlines of the war back to the pre-war borders and even drove brielfy into Valkynd Territory before the war ended.
