Vy4 Rifle

The Vy4 Rifle is a bolt-action rifle that uses 8mm Continental rounds. It was designed to meet requirements set forth by the Valkynd Kingdom in the later half of 593E7. The final design was accepted and put into production in 594E7. It was later adopted by several of neighboring counties, most notably Palatrea who got their own production license for the rifle. The Palatrean production of the rifle included a bayonet that was twice the length of the original.
The designation Vy4 means that it was adopted in the 4th year of the rule of Valérie Marková.
During The Bloodmarch it was found that while the rifle was a powerful weapon, its rate of fire left something to be desired. In 616 E7, the Vy26 Rifle was adopted by Valkynd to replace it. While the Vy26 was superior in most respects, the Vy4 could be produced much more efficiently so it was kept as a secondary standard for Valkynd. Palatrea never adopted the replacement rifle as their military placed a greater focus on the Type15 Submachine Gun and a better rifle was seen as unecessary to them.  Valkynd ceased production of the rifle after the war ended.
Palatrea would continue to use and produce the Vy4 until they adopted the Vy55 Assault Rifle.
