Iron Crown Mountains

Sitting at the northern peak of the Mortal Realm is Iron Crown Mountains. These mountains are the source of Dracheim's prosperity into the modern age. With lumber a scarce commodity, stone became the construction material of choice. Over many generations, the citizens of Dracheim have become the realm's greatest masons. Ranging from fine engravings to grand halls, the stonework stands unflinching against the brutal elements. Beyond providing materials for shelter, the mountains also provide a means to thrive. The mountains hold expansive and rich veins of iron ore, enough to forge weapons to arm the city twice over and still have leftovers. The sound of hammering metal can be heard constantly throughout the city as artisans ensure that their defenders' gear is always at its finest. The surplus ore is Dracheim's greatest export, mostly going to Merkonus. While Merkonus gets most of its needs from the Blackrock Peaks, the demand for raw iron as the basis for all their projects often outpaces their own production. Iron is the lifeblood of the city in more ways than one and it flows generously from the mountains.
