Avalon

In the legend of the Fae, there is no other place that is as loved and as missed as the great Avalon, an ancient city that is believed to have been the first home for the faekind after they stepped out of their Dream Willow vessels aeons ago. A city of wonder and magic like no other before or after it, this settlement was sadly lost during the catastrophe that forced the Fae to leave their native realm behind. However, a dream of finding this legendary city still lives strong, and many expeditions and adventurers have tried their luck in The Faerie Wilds. So far, no-one has succeeded and returned to tell about it, but some documents suggest that Avalon might still indeed exist.

History

According to the scholars, Avalon was build on the same grounds the first Dream Willow landed, with the first Fae settlers with it. During its days of splendor, it was the crown jewel among the cities, a true pioneer in arts, technology and magic. It was once the home for the one of the largest libraries of its time, and the knowledge that was lost with the city still haunts the dreams of the scholars.

Architecture

A very few descriptions of Avalon remain, however, all of them describe it as the most beautiful city, build to resemble the cities in the original home of the Fae settlers. The style the city was build resembles the mundane Art Nouveau style with its inspiration from nature, however, no mundane architecture could ever be but a mere shadow of the architecture of Avalon, the City of Stars.
