Thorn Knight

Thorn Knights serve under the Thorn Court and work as officers to enforce the law among The Folk . They hold no alliances to other Courts, even if they once were a member of one - as usually is the case. A mundane word to describe them would be the police force and the justice system of the Fae society.

Career

Qualifications

Before becoming a knight, a person must serve as a Squire under a knighted Thorn Knight. While this sounds like a very medieval thing to do, it resembles much more a modern day trainee-system than an actual road to knighthood. After a squire has proven their worth, they become an official member of the Thorn Court after their Knighting Ceremony.

Other Benefits

The knights get a monthly salary, as one would in any other job, as well as other benefits. They also have the protection of the Thorn Court , in a similar way that a member of The Folk is protected by their respective Court.

Perception

Purpose

The purpose of the Thorn Court and thus the Thorn Knights is to oversee the other Courts and enforce the law amongst The Folk. They are seen as a neutral party in the Court politics, and sometimes act as a negotiator in the conflict between the other Courts. They are also the protectors of the Fae, and should some outside threat arise, the Thorn Knights would be there to face it.
