Janshima Island

Janshima Island is very large island off the coast of Southern Mitralia. The island itself spans about 190 miles in length and it is treacherous for sailors to travel near. No one knows exactly all the reasons very few sailors can come near the island and get away from it. Some attribute it to its main rocky jags that come straight out of the sea all around it. Some attribute it to the shallow waters that span out far from the island. Still others say it is something else entirely.   What can be agreed on, surprisingly, is that the island is cursed, and may also be haunted. While no one who's sailed close to the island and gotten away can confirm this, if you do manage to get stuck on the island, and if you do manage to survive, you can sometimes hear tales from the locals that confirm this myth, as they've had to grapple with it everyday they live out their lives, stranded, on an island they never wanted anything to do with in the first place.

Geography

Janshima has four main biomes. The first is beach, which wraps around the entire island. The second is forest, which makes up at least 70% of the island. The third is mountain range, which makes up the third highest percentage, at about 15%. And finally there is volcanic land at the center of the island.

Fauna & Flora

Janshima Island has many plants and species. Being a tropical island, Janshima has many jungly trees, ferns, bushes, and fungus. It also has man palm trees lining the coast.   The beaches of Janishma Island are home to crabs, seagulls, and a few species of palm trees, some of which occasionally have coconuts. On occasion also, a Tolka will come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach. Deeper into the island, away from the beaches, the island has various species, such as the Lonychi, Nepi, Maris Rays, and if you are very unlucky, you can run into the dreaded Quisequoia. In the mountainous areas of the island, you can also occasionally find the nests of a Fregul. These areas are very well suited from the Fregul, because they are isolated from most civilizations, and Freguls like the high up mountains found there.

Natural Resources

Janshima Island is home to many types of fruits, some common such as bananas, pomegranates, kiwi, mangoes, and papaya, and some not even heard of unless you find yourself shipwrecked there. Such rare fruit includes: Mitkos, YarYar, and Pikon.   The island is also home to many rare earth metals as well as common ones, especially the closer you get to Mount Old Tyrant. In large deposits, you can find tin, iron, nickle, brass, cobalt, silver, gold, pyrite, and more.   Janshima Island is one of the few places that has coco beans, and it has a wet enough climate to farm rice.
