Kyros University is the largest educational and research center in
The Republic of Campmagni. As the most prestigious college of the republic it has a well-deserved reputation for discoveries both mundane and magical and as a patron of explorers who return with
loot artifacts from ancient and distant lands for their museums and libraries.
Kyros is the largest single employer in
Aguntun and even residents who don't work directly for the university are generally in service to the students and faculty by proxy. The university campus takes up almost the entire northeastern quadrant of the city, including the extensive library and museums, and those affiliated with the university occupy most of the residential areas surrounding it. Though only (human) citizens of the republic are allowed to attend or teach full-time other staff positions are open to non-citizens and may attend certain lectures and use some facilities.
Library
A portion of the university's library is available to the general public and includes information regarding practical sciences, history, and well-known mythologies. Deeper into the halls are study and research halls reserved for students and faculty that contain tomes deemed unfit for those unaffiliated with the school. Deeper still lies heavily protected rooms forbidden to all but the highest ranked faculty.
Museum
The majority of the university's museum is open to the public and displays historical artifacts, rare finds, and taxidermied creatures of interest. The majority of exhibits are from regions and ruins within Campmagnan borders but there is always an interest in pieces from other countries or more dangerous areas. The university often hires adventurers to find artifacts in such places.
