Buyu (Boo-yoo / Buh-yuh)

(a.k.a. Büyü)

Buyu is the goddess of magic and the weave. She is the core of arcane magic and the idea of study leading to magical power, as such she is often referred to as the Wizard's Mistress.

Description

Buyu was most frequently depicted as dark haired, and tanned woman dressed in robes of deep purple inlaid with metallic thread. She was also shown carrying a wand, staff, or other arcane focus as well as a large, heavy spell tome.
Her personality is viewed as stoic and level-headed by her supporters, and cold and uncaring by her detractors.

Religion

Buyu was a member of the Order of the Enlightened, where she was the main representative of magical knowledge and the arcane. She was celebrated as the ability for magical creatures to push the boundary of knowledge and progress. Due to the lack of widespread magic in Dünya, worship of Buyu was rare particularly among non-innately magical races such as humans.
Her holy day was known as Arcanium, and was celebrated on the 7th of Setting. Its celebration was extremely rare, except for within extraordinarily magical communities. That being said, her worshippers would take the day to reflect on their magical power and thank Buyu for their magical abilities that they have developed.
