Fairy

Fairies are a wee folk, but not nearly as much so as their pixie and sprite friends. Infused with the magic of the Feywild, most fairies looked like a small Elf with insectile wings, but each fairy has a special physical characteristic that sets the fairy apart.

Description

Fairies resembled small elves, with reports placing them variously at 2.5 feet (0.76 meters)[7][6][4] to 3.5  feet (1 meter) in height. Fairies had silvery, moth-like wings and preferred to wear brightly colored clothing. They often appeared with translucent, brightly colored wings that resembled those of a dragonfly. Their hair was generally worn long and ranged from colors that humans considered "normal" to blues, purples, or greens.   Fairies were usually passive creatures and fled in the presence of danger if their curiosity did not get the better of them. They were very adventurous and would spend much of their life traveling.

Abilities

Fairies had a number of innate magical abilities and a particular affinity with nature. Some fairies were even known to be able to grow or shrink in size. Fairies rarely engaged in physical combat, more frequently relying on magic. Those that did tended to use ranged weapons, particularly bows.

Society

Fairy nests were highly individualistic and elaborate retreats, generally perched within tall trees. Their homes tended to contain gems and various magical items.   Fairies were known to congregate every 28 years in a sort of grand festival in which they would trade, share news, renew friendships, and welcome new members of their race.

Homelands

On the Material Plane, fairies tended to live in the Imisen Forest or the Kabouter Forest. Although they could be found in temperate forests across Dünya.

Relationships

Some were known to befriend adventurers and even aid them in exchange for favors. They were most often seen in the company of elf and Gnome people on the Material Plane. Fairies were also known to trade with other creatures for light furnishings for their nests, such as silks and pillows.   Fairies who stayed in the Feywild tended to befriend other good Fey, particularly eladrin, pixies, nymphs, and dryads.

Religion

Like most creatures in the Feywild, fairies tended to pay their reverence to Archfey, particularly those in the Day Court, although some evil fairies worked for the Night Court. Most fairies worshipped elvish and gnomish gods whilst on the Material Plane, particularly Rakka, Tammi, and Grap Gelukkig.
