Subservience of Swynwyr

The Subservience of Swynwyr, also referred to as the Church of Swynwyr, was the organization dedicated to spreading the dogma and carrying out the wishes of the deity Swynwyr. It was very closely related and integrated with Our Lady's Eyes, a faction which extended beyond the borders of the Magocracy of Swynwyr.

Divine Origins

The Church of Swynwyr originated through the history Swynwyr herself. Before her ascent into godhood, Swynwyr had developed a devoted Human, Elf, and Half-Elf following, although there was a sizeable group of Halfling and Gnome, and less sizeable group of Dwarf and Half-Orc devotees. These followers had already been organized into the caste-like system still present in the Magocracy of Swynwyr, believing in the power of their spellcasting, leader, and undeath as ultimate power compared to other deities and forces.

Tenets of Faith

  1. Hierarchy and Obedience. I must act as I am commanded, for through Llefarydd I recieve orders from Our Lady herself, and she who stole godhood is the ultimate power.
  2. Mastery over Death. Death is a tool to command fear over those who oppose Our Lady. By mastering her teachings, I too may learn to command both the dead and living to kneel before me.
  3. Suppression of Weakness. Compassion is a weakness and mery for fools which can be exploited. An enemy forgiven today will return an enemy tomorrow.
  4. Magic is Might. Those who are blessed with innate magic are born to rule, those without it are born to follow. It is through magic that I may strive to follow Our Lady's will.
  5. Preservation of Knowledge. Knowledge is power. Our Lady requires me to hold the secrets of the past and all the rituals, texts, and forbidden lore that comes with it for enacting Her will.

Priesthood

The leaders of the Church of Swynwyr are divided in a hierarchical order. This hierarchy was identical to the hierarchy of Our Lady's Eyes.
