A handful of specialist wizards have combined their transmutation skills with healing to reshape patients’ bodies. Body parts can magically be regrown within days, though it is quite a painful process and is accompanied by a ravenous appetite. They realized the same rituals could be adapted to change a person’s physical sex, gradually altering the patient’s body as desired. The ritual itself only takes around an hour to conduct, but the results can take up to a week to fully manifest. During this time, the patient is kept present to rest and be observed, in order to make sure there are no complications. While higher level magics could achieve the same effects in significantly less time, this slower process seeks to keep the growing pains at more tolerable levels and provides more permanent results which won’t be undone by anti-magic effects. Such services can generally be found in the largest cities, those with arcane schools which can train practitioners. The hospital in Zankor is the primary place on Trast, though one provider and their apprentice have relocated to Alondria. A less reputable provider or two have set up in Nu-Fou.
