Ever wreathed in fog from the neighboring lake, Alondria is a beautiful and prosperous city.

Government

Alondria is ruled by a guiding council of senior officials and the appointed matriarch, Lady Alondria. The council is made up of the leaders of each industry and public service: agriculture, trade, land management, guard force, etc. The palace is an incredibly tall, gleaming tower known as the Platinum Spire.
The Lady is first nominated by her peers in the community and then chosen by the council. She must be pure of heart, level headed, and highly motivated. Only women who are single and childless are eligible for nomination, because once appointed they assume the role of matriarch and must be able to solely focus on governance. The Lady serves for a minimum of five years, at which point the council chooses to keep her on or replace her. For the duration of her rule, the city's matriarch does not use her own identity but instead adopts the name Alondria, a symbolic reminder that she represents the interests of her people.

• The Lady's Factotum: The personal guardian and agent to Lady Alondria. There is only ever one, generally appointed when the position opens up. The Factotum serves until death, even through Matriarchal Transitions. Their replacement is usually a recently disgraced guard commander or operative, appointed to regain their honor in service and death. Loyal only to the current Lady, the Factotum serves an additional role as prime enforcer of the law. It is the Factotum's responsibility to ensure the smooth transition of power, and keep corruption out of the Lady's Guiding Council. They are equipped with a talisman that allows them to teleport to any location they have been before; the initial test for every Factotum is to recover the talisman from the remains of their predecessor, or track it down if it were looted.

Despite the ostensibly democratic system for replacing the city's ruler, Alondria is really more of an aristocracy. The pursuit of creating the most outwardly beautiful society on Trast has gradually led to the rich and famous adopting an air of pompous nobility, further developing into cronyism as high up as the Lady's Guiding Council.

Defences

Alondria's guard force is known as the Gleaming Sentinels. Clad in armor polished to be reminiscent of the Platinum Spire, they wield ornate shields and specialized spear-like polearms. Their gear is accented with the colors of the city's iconic cherry blossoms: dusty pink metallic detailing and pale green cloth draped from certain parts. The head of the Gleaming Sentinels is the Commandant.

Geography

Alondria stands upon the peninsula reaching into Loch Savan. To the northeast of the city lays the Torpid Weald.
