History
Founded when King Aiden Brahk of the coastal town Maia negotiated a merger with the nearby mining town, Desh. As far as civilians understood, Desh surrendered its sovereignty for stronger trade relations with Maia, as a single government could more efficiently run things. As such, the aptly named Maia'desh Empire was born. Over the decades since, they have expanded their influence throughout Iqari, absorbing townships that are willing and enslaving those that aren't.
Trade & Transport
Most goods, including slaves and addictive substances, are legal to be traded within the Empire. However, they are also heavily taxed, generally leading to these commodities being a luxury.
