On the night of Erosardel Fenvayla’s hatching, a golden gleaming meteor shot across the sky over Dorei, and appeared to land in the icy crags to the north. Priests and shamans in the area saw it as a good omen, portending the child’s great destiny. Few who trekked to investigate the meteor’s impact returned, and those who did said they could not reveal what they found until the time was right…
Twenty three years later, Fenvayla would unite the people of the region in overthrowing Baron Alberic Gamwich IV, and the people made her the new ruler. Upon her coronation, the ones who bore witness to the “meteor” finally revealed their truth as they announced the arrival of the Ki-rin, once more flying overhead to grace Fenvayla’s crowning. This event established the benevolent and prosperous Erosardel Dynasty for generations to come. The witnesses then formally founded the Monastic Order of the Golden Horn, forever in service to the region's benefactor, relaying its wisdom to the people and confronting evil throughout the world.

The Ki-rin is a huge creature, shaped like a steed yet clad in scales of gold with drakonic jaws, a gleaming horn upon its head, and a mane of purest starlight. It is rumored to reside within a temple built into a cave in the icy crags north of Dorei. Every settlement within ~100 miles of its temple has enjoyed an age of prosperity and good fortune since the beast's arrival, even being spared from the dangers caused by The Verdigris Tempest.
