Kidranen, despite having been the largest of the Clans, ceased after the devastating events of the War of the Races.

The War of the Races was one of the bloodiest wars in the history of Eainor, and its toll was by far the heaviest. The Trolls, a normally peaceful race, were driven unwillingly to war, but no Clan payed more dearly than the Forest Trolls, the Clan Kidranen. All perished. All but Morand, the Guardian of the Circle. And when the chipped stone-corpses of his kinsmen were pulled from the piles of enemies' slain bodies, Morand placed them round the Circle of Verinoth, and he joined them in eternal sleep. The seasons passed, and over two hundred years later the Kidranen had faded from true memory into myth in the minds of Men. Then, one fateful day, [Morand and his Clan awoke anew].
