Styolbecs

Description

The Styolbec tribe is closely related to the Althrics and Kolbecs, but also bears significant Norskolt influence from when the seafarers rounded Pharos to reach Aedenhal. The Norskolt who inhabited the islands north of Pharos and did not leave for Aedenhal were eventually driven off by the High Elves, and made their landings in modern Nothgard, where they integrated with the extant tribes and formed the modern Styolbecs. The Styolbecs primarily remain in Nothgard to this day.   The Styolbec are ruthless berserkers who maintained the independence of their lands until the The Western Exodus overwhelmed them. They still closely worship Radagost and regularly send him sacrifices. Their marauders were once feared for razing settlements whole and leaving no survivors, though their numbers have long declined and they've since taken a more isolationist approach. Still, murders in the vicinity of their encampments often pass on to be blamed upon the tribesmen, resulting in bloody skirmishes. More and more, the Styolbec have come to worship the coyote variation of Volgrim.   Despite such circumstances, most Styolbecs have integrated successfully into broader Nothgardian society. They occupy positions of nobility, even, and compose the bulk of Nothgard's anti-naval military through the renowned Styolic Sea Guard. Such tribesmen often give up or temper their faith in Radagost, though they still maintain their old cultural norms and cling closely to them. "Real" Styolbec tribesmen view such "traitors" lowly.
