Warp-Worm

Warp-Worms are a perversion of The Crimson Aphorites, which are predominant in Lasthold. The aphorites once held significant sway over Lasthold's government, but were purged as a result of The Crestfall Dominion, and forced into exile or submission. Those that accepted submission were conscripted to aid in the construction of new magical colleges and similar programs within Lasthold, and later transformed into the Warp-Cult, whose members are known as Warp-Worms.
The Warp-Worms maintain the metallic masks of the aphorites, but they are neither gold, nor iridescent, nor crimson when bled. They are typically darker, or silvery, and far less appealing to the eye. Beneath them, it is said, the faces of their wearers have become tainted by their proximity to the Warp, requiring the usage of the mask-like visage. Warp-Worms rarely leave the bounds of Lasthold, but may be confused for aphorites by those uninitiated into the order, and who have only heard rumors of its affairs.
