Bard

Written by Salen

A Bard is a timeless hero of story and song. They travel the land, visiting nation after nation and tell their stories and sing the songs of heroes gone by. This tradition is essential mainly because they are trying to teach the people to learn from history. Also by doing this they also pick up more than their fair share of rumors and whisperings of goings on, staying at the forefront of the here and now. They have subtle ways of getting people to do things for them, and more than one bard has been the cause of a fallen lord or duke.

Bardic College

There is a college in Everloom that bards can attend and learn from the greatest bards in the land. The Bardic College has about fifty students a year and of those, only twenty or so actually pass the tests and become full bards. Here they learn the stories and songs of the land, committing them to memory and adding their own flavor to them. This is the essence of the bard, giving the stories your own unique twist while keeping it true to history.

History

Bards have been around since 27 SR. This is the first known account of a bard showing up in a city (Everloom to be exact) and after that, they became more frequent. In the beginning, they told the stories given to them by the faeries, who absolutely loved telling stories. Thanks to Bards, we have what history we know now, and they continue to research tidbits of information and clues to our lost heritage. It was a bard that found the Accounts of the Fall of Rhanmar

Magic or Music

Bards in Tamia have no magic, however, the music they play does have its own unique properties. If they are singing or playing an instrument, they can help another heal quicker. They must play for the time the person rests and if they do, they heal twice as fast. If they do this when a priest heals, then its effects are threefold.
