Session 6: Fungal Attraction Report

General Summary

Following a harrowing battle with aberrant fungoids and fungal skeletons, the Group awaken to find themselves rescued by the four Golin'dar that were guarding the entrance to Kech Malgaan. The Golin'dar administered healing potions and told the Group that they had shot down the last aberrant fungoid. The Golin'dar said that they came as fast as they could once they heard the sounds of battle. Also, a wall of fungal spores had formed at the mouth of the kech entrance. Escape would be impossible.

The Group took a short rest. After that, Cyril used his apothecary kit to synthesize a cure for the fungal infection that Shim was suffering. Cyril successfully treated Shim and the four Golin'dar. After resting, the Group headed out. They passed the chambers form which the fungoids had emerged and came upon a room dedicated to Eberron. In the room was a massive statue portraying the progenitor dragon with a glowing sphere on a pedestal. On the pedestal, in ancient Dhakaani, it said, "This shrine is to the one that lives between. It bears a symbol of the flame that binds evil." The Group assumed that the orb fit into one of the eye sockets in the skull doors.

The Group continued along with the Golin'dar further into the kech. They discovered the records of the kech. The records contained works from the Dhakaani Empire and from a group calling itself the Will of Tarkanan. The Dhakaani records were from Helerak the Librarian and Daloran Durzin, last commander of Kech Malgaan. Helerak had written, "The way is never certain beyond the Kech. The Mistress of Shadow rules.", and, "The bindings stay the Keeper's hand and retard her influence, but her minions are still dangerous." Commander Durzin wrote, "The spawn of Sul Khatesh favor psychic and necrotic energies. Our warriors prepare for this when they contemplate battle." The writings of the Will of Tarkanan said, "Havvash came from beyond the sentinels. He claimed that there was a cathedral beyond. He said that an ally would be found there."

The Group then discovered the rooms of Daloran Durzin, along with his weapons and technomagical armor. Turu took the armor. Shim collected artifacts from Durzin's room. Shim passed out Durzin's byeshk weapons to the Golin'dar.

The Group then ventured into a great cavern adjacent to Durzin's room. Inside the chamber they found huge, fungal growths that had captured warforged inside. The Group began destroying fungi and rescuing warforged. The Group were suddenly attacked by two fungoid ankhegs and a horrifying nothic named Havvash. The Group and the Golin'dar put up a vicious resistance and defeated the monsters. Upon Havvash's death, the fungal growths in the kech began to wither. The Group were able to free the remaining warforged and Daask. Dax (Meriweather) attempted to convince Ingor to tell her what Ingor was doing, but Ingor stubbornly refused to speak with anyone until he saw Gamarah.

Notes
