Cockaby Rofferton was grateful to be alive again. He remembered the Dead Grey Mist approaching his station. He ushered in travelers for shelter while trying to keep panic from overwhelming him. Then his eyes grew heavy. He lay down behind the counter and drifted to sleep. After that things were a blur. From what his saviors told him he had been a ghost, doomed to forever tend his station. He shuddered when he thought of what might have been. Was my rescue simple luck or was someone looking out for me?   He finally got Felryn alone and after some small talk about life back in Zilargo he spoke the recognition phrase. "Have you been to the clockwork gardens in Korranberg?"   Please tell me you "almost lost a finger to a gearbloom" thought Cockaby. You almost lost a finger to a gearbloom.   "I haven't yet, maybe someday," Felryn replied.   Cockaby tried to hide his disappointment. "It is amazing. You should definitely visit the next time you're home."   So Felryn wasn't sent to save him, it was just luck.
"It would be really bad if this information got out Cockaby. It could put us in serious danger."   I'm not an idiot Blessing thought Cockaby. "Of course! These are just my personal journals. I'm not going to publish them in a paper or something." I'm going to give them to the proper authorities.
"All right children. You enjoy your treats, I just need to run an errand then we'll head to the station!" Cockaby hollered. Then more quietly to the Blademarks Guild member he hired. "Keep an eye on them Ferghus, I'll be right back." The big Thrane nodded gruffly and took an alert position at the front of the bakery.   Cockaby walked down the street and entered a sturdy stone building. As he approached a young dwarven attendant at the counter cheerful greeted him. "Welcome to the Kundarak Bank, Aruldusk Branch! How can I help you today?"   "I'm here to make a deposit. Account number 47."   The attendant's eyes widened ever so slightly but kept her professionalism. "Right away sir! Please follow me back to the vault."   She escorted Cockaby to a private room in the back. After a few minutes she returned with a safe deposit box and set it on the desk. "Is there anything else I can get for you sir? Something to drink perhaps?"   Suddenly realizing he technically hadn't had a proper drink in years he asked. "Do you by chance have some Garnet Wine?"   "I believe we do sir! Would you like a glass or the whole bottle?"   The whole bottle was tempting but Cockaby did have children to watch. He promised Almiraj Squad he'd make sure they got home safely and he didn't want to let his saviors down. "Just a glass please. Thank you."   Once he was alone with the box he opened it and deposited three full journals. Then from the stack of coins he withdrew three platinum Dragons. Using his pen he wrote in the log on the lid of the box.
Nymm 4, 999. Cockaby Rofferton. 3 Journals. Priority processing
He closed up the box and shortly after there was a soft knock at the door. "May I enter sir?" Cockaby affirmed and the attendant entered with a goblet full of purple liquid.   "Thank you madam. I'm done with my deposit." As she took the box back to the vault Cockaby leaned back in the plush chair and put his feet up on the desk while he savored his wine. He was overcome with a feeling of pride and patriotism and remembered the words from his induction.
Trust that we will always look after the needs of our great family, and that we need your aid as much as you need ours.
With Cockaby's help, Zilargo would be kept safe and sound.
