Cadrug
Witch
Goblin Witch of the Crimson Leaf tribe.
Cadrug was born to the tribe’s spiritual leader, Graal the Witch. Like his mother, Cadrug practices witchcraft, and is expected to inherit Graal’s role when she decides to retire.
He's never seen his patron, but he can feel its presence when he dreams. Frequently, he experience visions of the past and future of the goblin tribe. He has witnessed ancient battles, the wisdom of elders long past, and glimpses of a grander, more prosperous goblin society. These dreams give him a sense of purpose, inspiration, and sometimes the answers to problems confronting the tribe.
In recent months, Cadrug has grown close with Gwen Frost, sharing goblin stories and learning from the human who has spent much of her life researching goblin myths. Between Gwen’s academics and Crimson Leaf oral traditions, you have pieced together the following information:
- Millenia ago, a goblin empire ruled the continent, predating the arrival of humans. They called themselves the Dhakaani Empire.
- A legend says that a goblin bard, Jhazaal Dhakaan, performed a feat of epic magic. She crafted a dream of an empire, and bound the goblinoids to this dream.
- This shared dream, the Uul Dhakaan, gave the ancient goblins oneness of culture and purpose, uniting them under Jhazaal Dhakaan as the first emperor.
- A golden age lasted thousands of years, ending when an extraplanar invasion of aberrations destroyed their cities.
- Goblinkind was scattered, and much of their grand civilization was lost
- Echoes of the shared dream, the Uul Dhakaan, seem to resonate with the witches of your tribe.
