The Bloody Griffon
The Bloody Griffon is a tavern located in the northern portion of Mantlemine's that is frequented by members of The Crimson Knives. Its most popular attraction is its "Blood Ring", a fighting ring in which members of the Knives settle their differences, sometimes to the death. It is run by the sly tiefling Paruva Kell, and has an infamous goliath bouncer named Broniono "Bearbrawler" Kathavi, who is also the top champion of the Blood Ring. Paruva Kell is a member of The Crimson Knives, and for all technical purposes the tavern is owned by the criminal organization.
Purpose / Function
To provide a place for members of The Crimson Knives to settle their differences in trial by combat. It is also a place of great entertainment for the lower class of Mantlemine's population.
Architecture
The Bloody Griffon is a large two-story wooden building with a red roof that sticks out among its surroundings due to the large sign out front adorned with large creature tusks that reads "The Bloody Griffon". Above the sign is a wood-carved statue of a griffon with a bit of flesh in its beak that looks as if it's emerging from the wall. In the foyer are the bar and tables, though only make up a small amount of the establishment. At the back of the room to the left of the bar is a black door guarded by Broniono "Bearbrawler" Kathavi. The door leads to the Blood Ring, which is a large dimly-lit square room filled with sports stands surrounding a square arena. The arena is where the fighting happens, and is bordered by elastic ropes made from griffon sinew.
Another door in the foyer leads to the staircase, which leads up to teh second floor. On the second floor are private rooms reserved for champions of the Blood Ring and members of The Crimson Knives.
Defenses
Paruva Kell is skilled with the dagger and Broniono "Bearbrawler" Kathavi is an infamous brawler, though also uses a huge war-axe when neccicary.
