As one of only two women who serve the Temple of Mohan , Anethra Luliandre and Sui share a deep and heartfelt friendship among an otherwise emotionless existence. Sui dislikes discussing her past, simply stating she and her cousin Tooran Okamodo could no longer endure the heartache and tragedy of their lost home. Sensi Ando has suggested that the pain she holds in her heart both gives her strength and is a potential source of weakness for the otherwise emotionally guarded warrior.
