TUMI Headmaster

The University of Magical Improvement is a key institution, that holds as much power as it does potential. However, it has a wealth of resources in material items, knowledge, and powerful individuals that leaves it at the attention of ne'er-do-wells and those who would seek to abuse the power of those resources. Thus, the duty of the TUMI Headmaster is more than just to oversee the educational practices of the school as well as its faculty, but to be the first and last line of defense against the forces of chaos that would seek to upend the school's security and sanctity. Being magically powerful in itself isn't much of a qualifier. One must be resourceful, crafty, prepared, adaptable, and most of all prioritize the safety of the school and its students above all else, even their own self.

Qualifications

A Headmaster Candidate is chosen by the current Headmaster. Typically, they have long-since graduated alumni, or current promising faculty, and will have several tests and challenges laid out for them across their tenure in order to gauge their affinity towards the duties of Headmaster.  When the current Headmaster passes away or steps down for another reason, they would have already laid out in a formal letter who the next Headmaster will be.

Appointment

After a new Headmaster is named, there is a 7-day period where faculty and important members of the board may question the validity of the statement, will make sure there are no signs of foul play, and interview the candidate or candidates about the qualities needed to be Headmaster. Typically, that last duty is what this 7-day period is meant for. Then, after those 7 days, there is a feast and celebration that is open to the community, where the new Headmaster will address the student body and community, and invoke their name into the school defenses.

Responsibilities

On a daily basis, a Headmaster will organize meetings with teachers and faculty to ensure that educational plans are going accordingly, assist departments with bureaucratic matters such as funding and material acquisition when needed, and ensure that the defenses and protection of the school are active and prepared.
