Personal history
Vik is the oldest child of the noble family that rules over Forstwatch. Growing up, he knew that he would inherit his father's lands (Baron Niklaus) and titles one day and that knowledge made him an arrogant, sometimes cruel, individual. While not inherently evil, he does whatever he wants, without regard for how it impacts others.
He is well known for making snap decisions about people and he harbors a grudge deeper than nearly anyone else his associates know. He is prone to violent rages, striking out at anything that angers him.
As a vanguard of a frontier land, he forgoes the silks of the more "cultured" nobility, instead wearing outdoor gear (heavy canvas pants, a rough-spun shirt and vest, etc). He carries a massive lumber-felling axe that he wields with impunity. Tall and well-muscled from years working in a lumbercutting crew, he keeps a freeflowing beard and his head closely shaved.
If given the option to attend to his duties or a whorehouse, he will opt for the whorehouse in any situation that doesn't put him at odds with his sovereign. He has caused several of the local girls to request that they not attend him because of his aggression. It never goes so far as to constitute assault, but it was more than they were comfortable continuing.
