Session 20: Meeting Lyra

General Summary

Xandra guides the council to the inn without wanting to go into any details in public. Arriving at the inn, the council are taken to a back room where they find Lyra standing over a table filled with maps.

Lyra explains that she asked Fyx for help because the Autumn Sanctum was destroyed and there's evidence that invisible creatures were behind the attack. However, things have gotten more complicated: the empress believes that Meletis is responsible for the attack and wants to ally Setessa with Akros against Meletis. To form the alliance, the empress plans for Lyra to marry the current king of Akros. Lyra believes the empress is being influenced by the Wise Women, a group of 5 women who advise the empress. Specifically, someone called Elaida. Lyra asks the council to help her find the real culprits behind the attack on the sanctum. The council plans to head to the Winter Sanctum to the north of the Nessian Woods and then make their way to the Autumn Sanctum.
Lyra and Xandra need some time to get ready to leave. In the meanwhile, the council makes their way to the local temple to Karametra so Fyx can atone. At the temple, he's told he needs to help others, only then will Karametra forgive his trespass.
The council then makes their way to the stable, they wait a couple of minutes for Lyra and Xandra. They prepare to leave, Fennan and Kaliaros drive the carriage, Fyx takes Lyra's horse, Kadmos takes Xandra's and Nir takes the horse the council had purchased.
Guided by Lyra, the council is able to navigate the winding trails within the Nessian Woods. A few after starting their track, a red rabbit jumps out of the bush onto the trail. It quickly begs for help as he's being chased. Nir decides to hide the rabbit. Shortly after, three Setessan guards rush out of the forest looking for the rabbit. They assume that the group is a merchant group. They ask if the group had seen a red rabbit, Nir and Fyx convince the guards that the rabbit ran in the opposite direction the group was heading. Kadmos asks them about their interest in the rabbit and this raises some suspicion in the group however the guard prioritizes running after the rabbit. The rabbit informs the council that he's a man that was transformed into a rabbit by Nylea and he was being chased by Nylea is the form of a wolf! The rabbit guides the council to where his possessions are as a reward for saving him and the council decides to take him to Nylea's temple to beg for forgiveness.
