The Sundering of the Elves

Cultural event

953PE

The Sundering of the Elves refers to the division of the elves into two distinct cultural groups: the Wood Elves and the Aether Elves. The split was caused by a growing cultural divide between the two groups of elves, which had developed over time

According to the history of the event, the Wood Elves felt that the Aether Elves, who lived in the floating city of Amva Dorei, had become detached from the natural beauty of the world. They believed that the Aether Elves were more concerned with their advanced technology and magical practices, rather than preserving the balance between progress and nature.

As a result, the Wood Elves decided to separate themselves from the Aether Elves, establishing their own communities in the forests and other natural habitats. They sought to live in harmony with nature, embracing its beauty and protecting it from harm.

The Sundering of the Elves marked a significant turning point in elven history and had a lasting impact on both groups of elves. The Wood Elves continued to live in close connection with nature, while the Aether Elves developed their own unique culture and technology, centred around airships and magic.

It is said that the two groups of elves rarely interact with each other and have developed very different attitudes towards the world and its many dangers. Nevertheless, the legacy of the Sundering of the Elves lives on, shaping the beliefs and practices of the Wood Elves and Aether Elves to this day.
