Gulf of Odos

The Gulf of Odos is on the western side of Dane with the Kingdom of Jote on its northern shores and the Kingdom of Tern on its southern shores. Natural warm ocean currents travel down from Tharos and fill the gulf with warm waters that keep it open for shipping and provide a temperate climate to the coasts year-round. The gulf opens into the Temis Ocean.

Ecosystem

Filled with warm waters tropical waters it is rich with various flora and fauna. It contains many prime fishing grounds and provides a significant amount of the food for the Kingdom of Tern.

Localized Phenomena

Many times a year a large whirlpool will appear at a seemingly random location in the gulf lasting around three days. On the last day, it becomes a water spout. Some attribute this phenomenon for the above-average amount of warm rain the occurs around Dane and the occasional rain of fish. It has been called the Eye of Odos.

History

It is said that the name of the Gulf originates from when the Zevalon Dynasty ruled over Dane and Odos was a powerful wizard that had been given the Gulf and the southern arm of the continent to rule in reward for his service to the Dynasty.
