Amethyst Queen/King of Aundair
This title was created in the wake of Queen Aurala Amaranthine Ar'Wynarn reign. It holds the same power of any monarch, but was created to fit the nations recent focus towards lithomancy and crystalline structure.
Qualifications
Requires one to have had the proper education expected of a member of high society, as well as the magical prowess of an Archmage that follows the school of Lithomancy.
Requirements
This title requires one to be of the age of 18, as well as be a hereditary descendent or chosen heir of the previous holder.
Appointment
A festival is held when the heir becomes of age, or if the previous monarch steps down.
Duties
The holder of this title, must govern the realm in which they have dominion over, keeping the best interests of the nation and its people in mind.
Responsibilities
One must represent the nation during times of great success or sorrow.
One must read and or sign all documents or reports pertaining to the activity of the realm and its endeavors.
One must meet and manage any visiting dignitaries.
One must travel across the nation in order to meet and understand the people in which they govern.
One must design and manage all national festivals and high society events.
Benefits
The holder of this title is provided with the utmost political power and say in all matters of the realm, they and their family hold the largest treasury of wealth collected by the state and may utilize the military for their designs, so long as these designs reside in good reason.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The wielder is bestowed the Amethyst Crown, and the legendary Scions Signet of Aundair, bestowed upon the first scion of Aundair during Galifar I reign.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If the reign of this titles wielder devolves into blatant tyranny, or harms the land, people, and the nations reputation as a sovereign. The title will be removed, and the Emerald Magistrate will govern until a suitable heir can be found. If none can be found, the Emerald Magistrates bloodline will replace the old royal family and they will be promoted to the title of Amethyst King or Queen.
History
After Aundair suffered many loses during Queen Barvette's reign, her daughter Queen Aurala Amaranthine Ar'Wynarn decided to shift Aundair in the direction of Lithomancy, a magic she had cultivated and mastered during her mothers reign. The magic was extremely unique and potent, impressing the members of the Prismatic Quorum, allowing Queen Aurala to write and pass the Writ of Crystalline Reconstruction. Which redesigned Aundairs architecture, military focus, and governmental infrastructure.
Cultural Significance
Many within Aundair's culture take pride in the grace and mastery of magic held by those in this position, but others often attach no more culture signifigance than that. Aundairian are very patriotic so they tend to double down on the actions and ideas held by their leaders, but often will not change their culture to suit that leader.
Notable Holders
The first and most notable holder of this title, is Queen Aurala Amaranthine Ar'Wynarn. While she currently is the only one to ever possess this title, she has done far more than many Aundairian Monarchs have done in the past. After only 18 years of rule, Queen Aurala has managed to cultivate her nation and push it into a new age of prosperity. Her mastery of Lithomancy is unmatched in the continent, as she stands as one of the very few who wields legendary level magic.
