Thao Dorthore
The Crest of the Calliope
Thao Dorthore, how do you fully express how depressive the area is? I understand the need for a prison and I understand the need for people to feel safe. But the more I watch it being built the more I find myself wanting to sink it into the mountains and pretend it was never really true.Host to the main prison population of the Ivadour Dynasty it cannot be boasted about as being even half as elegant as any other Falkovian city but it is at least boasted about it's utility. Built high into the mountains, it has some of the grandest views where you can overlook the entrance of the Ancival Mine. The city is also close to the summits favored by the favored mount and companions of the Falkovians.
Important Locations
Falastine Prison
- Location Type: Prison
- Alternative Names: Falpris
- Purpose: House crimals
- History: No one really enjoys speaking about how, why, or when Falpris was built or started, people do sometimes talk about the monsters it held. Falpris was built inside of the Ancival Mine. Finding it made for near-impossible escape as it was slowly scattered throughout the mine as it grew inmates are often blinded either by cloth or magical means on their way down to their new home. Often prisoners are rendered unable to use magic by any means necessary.
- Description: Dark, warm, and dank are the three most popular words from the residents of Falpris. It is made from carved stone blocks set with magic to hold them in place until Eiria is nothing but cosmic dust. Most sections of the prison house four to six people before a new block is made. Having no need to just build more blocks without reason. Generally, a new block is made once half of the last block beds are filled.
Ancival Mine
- Location Type: Mine
- Alternative Names: Aci Mine
- Purpose: To harvest Frost Steel Ore, stone, coal, semi-precious gems and precious gems, and Silver Ore.
- History: Started as the first mine in the Vlard Highlands Aci Mine was made to follow after what was thought at the time a rather healthy and robust vein of Frost Steel Ore. Though it's first vein quickly ran dry, it did lead to other veins of silver, gems, and coal being found. The chase of the other veins led to more pockets of Frost Steel Ore and allowing Falpris to be built.
- Description: Long and winding tunnels with pockets of stopes make up this mine. Unlike Vericent Mine, it does not have large caverns or pools of crystal clear water, just blocks of the prison and what veins are being worked still. Even the Entrance is unassuming but most tend to reason this as no one really wants anyone releasing the possible evil within Falpris.
Anchula Stables
- Location Type: Stables and Breeding Center
- Alternative Names: The Stables
- Purpose: Training, housing, and breeding of Calliope.
- History: When the Falkovian settled here the large concentration of some of the best looking Colliope they had ever seen. Settling in quickly to herding them and taking them into their families and even their bloodlines of their own breeding stock. It didn't take long for them to quickly build the stables they needed and start to work on training rings along with places to breed stock. The Calliope being the symbol for the Falkovians they were quick to build lavish stables for them.
- Description: Comprised mostly of large stalls and wings of stalls, circular pens in various sizes, and breeding stalls. While as mundane as it sounds it is far from it. Most stalls are large and lavish that any lower classed Falkovian would want to live in. Most rooms and hallways being the same almost as if the building was a temple built for the Calliopes.

- The widest spread rumor is prisoners have tunneled from their cells into the mine shafts, while no evidence has ever been found it is still a widespread rumor that most common folks seem to put the most faith in on being true.
