King Seneryl the Golden
Seneryl the Golden is the current and first king of Zatheravi. He was originally part of an all-elven Jeltiri mercenary group which helped the kingdom of Eddelbrough win a war in EL 407. He was awarded a small patch of land which had previously been a territory of his, and declared it the kingdom of Zatheravi the following year. Many elves who were in Avera at the time came to live there, and so did quite a few from Jeltir, drawn by the promises of the first great elven nation in Avera. However, Seneryl proved an anemic ruler, chiefly concerning himself with maintaining the approval of his ally Eddelbrough.
Around the mid-500s, Seneryl began actively silencing all criticism of him in an attempt to secure the respect of his own people, but this plan backfired, and he shortly undid all decrees therein. This was followed by several sustained attempts on his part to improve things for his citizens and reverse the cultural rot that had taken place, attempts noted by most as promising but insufficient.
He is known among the people of Zatheravi by many nicknames.
