BiG Session 7: Contributions to the War Effort
General Summary
From Beleren Hazid's Personal Diary, Month 8, Week 3, Year 931
And to think things couldn't get any worse in town, people are now screaming about traitors in our midst. Yesterday a military ship full of supplies from Ravi was attacked at the Gamerian Docks, bombs going off and a captain killed by a rogue soldier that started cutting down his allies. The city's awash in rumors of spies and traitors, especially now that the war effort's reached a stalemate against the Lead Kings. For weeks Gameth hasn't made any progress in the siege on Gordigrad, and this supply ship raid will surely slow down progress even more. The Stella and commoners alike are looking for someone to blame, and I'm worried about where the fingers will start pointing. For now it appears that the Slavoslavs are being blamed since several of their members were sighted at the docks that day shouting their catchphrase, but I've also heard rumors of that new group Blood Bath & Beyond being involved. I fear that arresting all the thieves in town won't satisfy the mob, and innocent people will start being blamed for the war's setbacks. Kacie's worried about what would happen if my Shroud affiliations were ever revealed, saying that my veteran status would do little to protect me from a witch hunt. I've reassured her that I've kept my double life well-hidden for more than three decades, only a handful of people in the city even know about my Shroud connections. It would be wise though to lay low for a few months, nobody would remark if I missed a few parties due to a bad cough.
