HB Session 8: A Giant Sign from the Gods
General Summary
Month 5, Week 2, Year 924
The Holy Boaters braced for the oncoming storm, escorting all the seamen below deck and securing any loose equipment above deck. Cpt. Dolooloobogg crawled to the top of the crow's nest to ask for a sign from Fharlanghnor any of the deities he worshipped, receiving nothing but a devastating bolt of lightning in response. Once the worst of the storm had passed Noodles raced up to the crow's nest to give Dolooloobogg a healing potion, Shazir becoming acting captain while the kuo-toa recovered in his quarters raving about fishes and frogs. Weathering the storm without any casualties or damage to the Holy Boaters, the officers passed the time with a trivia night while Sarek patiently handled complaints from the seamen and crew. Shazir checked on Dolooloobogg from time to time, offering him reassurances when he talked about receiving no guidance from the gods during his latest vision. A message from the gods had presaged all of his major decisions and recruitment drives (a deity visited him even before recruiting Clover), but during this latest storm none of the gods gave him any guidance as to what the Holy Boaters should be doing. Shazir promised him that they would figure out what to do soon, Dolooloobogg still worried about the responsibilities from such uncertainty. The voyage continued for a couple more days, circling around the coastlines near Qazvin to hunt the local sahuagadile. The crew found the time to make plenty of preparations to fight the sahuagidle, capped off by Muireann luring the beast out of its lair with a generous serving of chum. The crab-like sahuagidile rose out of the waters with a band of undead sailors wrapped in its tentacles, quickly charming Yel'ah before attacking the rest of the crew...
