Kuen Hainaut

Matriarch

A dark elf woman and former matriarch of House Hainaut in the Verschow from 496 until her death in 745. She was part of the generation of dark elves who first rebelled against Rakka's oppression in the late 400's, seeking to found an independent Verschow free to perform its arcane rituals in peace.
For centuries she was a vocal advocate for secession by any means, trading enchanted relics with criminal organizations in exchange for much-needed supplies and funding. Her dream of an independent Verschow was almost achieved during the Sixth Elflands-Rakkan war of the 740's, but the revolution fell apart when she died under mysterious circumstances halfway through the war. Some have placed the blame on Rakka's tiefling leaders, but scholars with a better understanding of Verschow politics believe that her death was orchestrated by one of the family's rival houses.
