Kureta Lake

The lake that sits below Kureta City is actually a large crater which was caused by the fall of Magera, the goddess of magic, after a titanic battle between she and The Goddess. Previous to this, there was only a river that ran through the land.
The magical essence of Magera's body is what caused the floating rock that Kureta City now sits on to rise.
