Seed of Mortona
The Seed of Mortona is an ancient artifact that has sat below the Deddo Forest for eons. It was being guarded by the ghost of a woman, but has now been stolen by the Shadow Witches, who seem to be taking it south.
The seed has apparently been the cause of the corruption in the Deddo Forest, and without its presence, the forest may recover.
An excerpt from an ancient tome bares reference to the seed: "And Mortona, maiden of death, was jealous of all that The Goddess had created. The floating city stood as a bastion of The Goddesses' perfection, the epitome of what she could create. Mortona could only sew death, and in her jealousy she tried her hand at creation. The result was the Seed of Mortona, a wicked and evil thing that could bare no fruit, bloom no flower, spawn no life. The only thing the seed brought was death and decay. Mortona planted her seed in the forest, and was shocked to see the trees wither and die. Creatures fled the pestilence, and even the sky itself wept in dismay at what the goddess of death had done. In her pride, Mortona refused to remove the seed - believing it would bring life one day. The Goddess' perfect city was ruined, and the people cried for their lost garden - and the friends they held to the west, now lost in the darkness."
