Unnatural Happenings in Nistaun
Ariadne Knightsbridge has asked Godric to investigate the town of Nistaun due to some strange goings-on there. The town has been troubled for the last 5 years, apparently demons or ghosts or both ruined the town, but no evidence of any supernatural could be found. The Order of the Shield were ordered by Devianne to spend no further resources investigating the town.
The group arrived in Nistaun where they met Jeanie Gatehouse at the The Horn & Sprite tavern. Jeanie filled the group in on what she knew about the town. The trouble seemed to start roughly 5 years ago with the murder of the mayor's wife and daughter. The mayor was arrested as the only suspect, but disappeared shortly after. Since then, numerous strange occurrences have plagued the town, including the The Old Mill being burnt down, the horses in the stables being spooked away and the owner of the Inn on the Lake disappearing - causing the establishment to close. Citizens claimed to have seen ghosts and demons in the town, which drove many people away, others still went missing without a trace. Jeanie is convinced that her husband, the owner of the Old Mill, is still alive somewhere and hopes the group can find him if they solve the case. Evidence at the mayor's manor suggest that the mayor killed his wife and child 5 years ago, before disappearing. The ghosts of the deceased now haunt the manor.
After much investigating, the Unlikely Association discovered that the troubles plaguing Nistaun were being caused by a Night Hag - a denizen who made its true home in Hades. After defeating the evil creature, they travelled to the lower planes in order to retrieve the soul of Abraham Gatehouse, freeing him and many other trapped spirits from reaching their eternal rest.
