Calais Pnéo (KAL-ayss PNEH-oh)
A Resident/Non-CCN
Calais Pnéo (a.k.a. Cal)
Calais Pnéo, the other half of the legendary Boread twins, shares a similar yet distinct path. He is recognized not only for his shared lineage and adventures with Zetes but also for his intellectual prowess and deep emotional depth. Known for their speed and ability to fly, Calais and his twin brother Zetes were invaluable members of the Argonauts, the band of heroes who accompanied Jason on his quest for the Golden Fleece. Despite their valiant efforts, they were ultimately unable to capture the harpies that plagued King Phineus. As punishment, their father Boreas sent Calais to Tir na nOg (around 1250 BCE). In truth, this exile was a protective measure to shield him from the inevitable decline of the Greek pantheon.
Calais is the more cerebral of the two, his curiosity and intellect driving him to constantly seek new knowledge and experiences. Unlike his brother, Calais is demisexual, forming deep emotional bonds before romantic feelings develop. This trait made his brief yet impactful relationship with Orpheus all the more profound. During their time together, Orpheus taught Calais the art of music, a gift that Calais has cherished and cultivated ever since. His mastery of musical instruments and his ability to compose captivating melodies make him a revered musician in Tir na nOg.
Calais' intellect does not overshadow his capacity for empathy. He is deeply attuned to the emotions of those around him and often serves as a confidant and advisor. His music is not merely an art form but a means of expressing the inexpressible, of connecting with others on a level that transcends words. His blue-grey eyes, contrasting with Zetes' brown ones, are windows to a soul filled with both sorrow and joy, reflections of the many emotional journeys he has undertaken.
