The Cackling Vulture

The Cackling Vulture is the brother of The Silent Queen. He once fulfilled the role of her Ferry Man, but resented his role and began devouring souls instead of collecting them. He rebelled against his sister's rule, slashing her throat and destroying her voice in a brutal civil war, but was ultimately defeated by his father. His broken form was thrown into exile at the far reaches of the Shadowfell.

His stomach and throat were ripped out, freeing many of the souls he had devoured. But some souls were retained within his mouth. They formed the first of the mindless undead - perversions of the cycle who exist for existence's own sake. Without a stomach, he can never feel satisfied, but still feels the need to endlessly devour souls. A part of the soul of all lives taken by all undead, everywhere, is devoured by the Vulture.
