The Silent Queen
A Goddess of the Death Domain, Her sacred task is to claim those lost souls who perish and draw them from this world. Her devout followers commune with Her in the misty clouds of graveyards, and bleak woods. Where the world grows quiet and solumn death is in the air, then so shall Her reach be near.
Followers of the silent queen speak little, and vow never to speak the name of a deceased being, as all names in death belong to Her alone, and simply refer to these past entities as 'them'.
Her followers pierce their tongue with a red metal ring as a sign of their faith.
None can recall the look of Her face...
The Silent Queen is the established ruler of most of the Shadowfell, ruling as both Empress and Goddess on behalf of the Shadow-Mother. She maintains all that is orderly about the cycle of life and death. While she does not provide final judgement to all souls, she does direct them to their final judgement, and thus she is the last hope for anyone who has died while bound under an infernal contract for she alone can declare such a contract void and redirect a soul accordingly. She has never been known to do so, but the threat of such interferance keeps the powers of Hell somewhat in check.
Her servants are called Shades. Her city is called Sistesung, and it fills the entirety of the space that is the Shadowfell equivalence of the south Drakar and Djordan deltas in the Eal Empire. Her palace is called the Fortress of Memory, and the River of Stories runs directly through it.
