Gourmandier Abilities
- The gourmandier can prepare meals that provide temporary bonuses to allies. After spending one hour cooking, the Gourmandier can prepare enough food for six creatures, but requires at least a pound of fresh meat to do so. Each member who partakes in the meal receives the benefits of the Bless spell for 1 hour or until the end of their next encounter, whichever comes first.
- The gourmandier has extensive knowledge of food and ingredients. As such, they receive a +2 bonus to checks related to identifying, finding, or preparing food and drink. Additionally, they can magically identify fresh water and poisonous plants by sight.
- A gourmandier's nose is especially keen to changes of scent, and as such they can track exceptionally well. When attacking an invisible creature, a gourmandier takes only a -1 rather than a -2 penalty to your attack roll.
- At 3rd level, a gourmandier can add special magical ingredients to the meals they prepare. Each time they create a meal using their class features, they can choose one of the following to add the bonuses of to the bless spell granted by the meal.
- Hearty Stew: The recipients gain the effects of the Aid spell.
- Energizing Brew: The recipients gain a +1 bonus to their speed.
- Detoxifying Tea: The recipients gain a +2 bonus to saving throws versus poison.
- Also at 3rd level, a gourmandier can prepare a special concoction with at least 15 gp worth of fresh herbs, which acts as a Potion of Healing. It lasts for 24 hours, and only one can be made per day. If not imbibed in that time, the herbs go to waste.
- At 5th level, a gourmandier identify and neutralize poisons in food and drink as per the purify food and drink spell. They can use this ability a number of times each day up to their experience level.
- At 7th level, the gourmandier's sense of smell is heightened to extremely supernatural levels. They can detect invisible creatures within 15 feet of them and cannot be surprised by creatures within this range unless they are in the range of extremely putrid odors, such as feces.
- At 10th level, the gourmandier can create food that nourishes better than anything else. When making one of their meals through this class, it counts as enough food and drink for the entire day for all who partake.
- Also at 10th level, once per week, a gourmandier can prepare a massive meal to serve a great many people. Over the course of one hour, the gourmandier can cast the Heroes' Feast spell, but only creating the food and not the table, chairs, and service. When done in this way, it can serve twice the normal amount of people, and heals twice the normal amount of damage.
- At 13th level, a gourmandier can create a prepare a special dish that can serve only a single creature once per week over the course of two hours, using 1 pound of meat and 15gp worth of herbs. Once eaten, the creature gains hit points through regeneration at the rate of 1 hit point per turn for 24 hours.
