Brothers of Brie

Druidic circle of male druids in Culan. They act as knowledgeable advisors for Gwydion Ó Meidhir and the council of Culan.   The Brothers of Brie are a legendary group of mystics who are either a deluded group of hedonistic drug addicts or visionary druids deeply in tune with the warp and weft of fate and destiny. The truth depends on who you talk to.

Public Agenda

There is a story told that a dedicated young acolyte spent considerable time writing up the organisation’s objectives. Beautiful penmanship and illustrated text. A lengthy work, it filled twenty pages. It was presented to Anwan at the height of a Burning Man Festival. Anwan took it, thanked the acolyte, then hurled it into the bonfire, yelling at the top of his voice: ‘See all, know all.’   After a shocked moment, the other members took up the words, and soon they rang out as a unified chant as the flames burned the acolyte’s work to ash.   Dedicated to foreseeing and prophesy, they use complicated rituals and hallucinogenic drugs to enhance their magical sight and scree the future. They trade their service for anything other than money. Anwan didn’t believe in currency-based wealth, and all their supplies are traded for.

History

The group grew out of a small cadre of magi who studied and practiced with Anwan Farvol who specialised in divination and farsight. Anwan, also known as the Rainbow Mage, predicted a number of potential catastrophes that threatened Culan and is credited by many for being instrumental in saving the Sidhe from, if not extinction, then at least slavery and destitution.   Whether he had such a big influence is debatable, but the fact that he foresaw the Green Revolt, the Rain of Tears and the Coming of Darkness has earned him a mythical status in Culan history. That and the riotous parties he used to hold where the fun and debauchery were said to have lasted for a week.   After his mysterious death (no body was ever found), his acolytes continued to follow his teachings, and over time the organisation of Brothers of Brie established itself as a credible Druidic cult.
