It is no secret there are multiple worlds within this universe. An infinite span, spread across space and time. Some the slightest deviation of another, a what if in reality. And of course, those worlds have people. And those people have counterparts. Meet Edward Darius Lionheart, counterpart to James Alexander Steelheart.

Personal history

Edward is the second born son of King Wilhelm Lionheart and first born son of Queen Rosaline Lionheart. He is the middle child, born moments after his elder brother, Eldwyn Lionheart. He protected his older brother from the ridicule of being a "bastard" with a ferocious temperament. He was considered a problem child from an early age by teachers and tutors, often causing disruptions in class if he perceived a slight from them toward the class.

When his baby sister was born, he sacrificed part of his own soul to shore up her own and prevent her death. Following this, he became an over protective older brother who would do anything for his little sister. He was especially harsh to her betrothed, feeling that a boy eight years older than her was not appropriate. His intervention and guardianship ended when he entered into mandatory military service at the age of eighteen. Both Eldwyn and Edward were sent on several military exercises through the continent. 
Edward found his calling in the military and remained within it, fast on the path to taking his place as a General. Eldwyn ascended the throne and Edward was his right hand. He was sent away on explorative missions to the west, where he and his troop discovered a particular gemstone that absorbed energies surrounding it. His mages were able to utilize magic they should not have by drawing the power from these stones. This discovery lead to the invention of the Quartz Battery. 
Overuse of the battery began to take a toll on the world's energies. Despite warnings from Gwyn, he did nothing to put a stop to it. When Gwyn went on to Eldwyn with the issue, he grew violent. After all, how could a sickly girl who was just a peace offering between two nations know what she was talking about? As the evidence mounted, Edward continued to deny it and fight to keep his discovery in circulation. Finally, in a fit of rage, he accidentally slew Eldwyn, who protected Gwyn from his wrath. 
From then, he was considered a monster. He was acquitted by reason of temporary insanity caused by Gwyn repeatedly stepping out of line. Edward ascended the throne, but the damage was done. The Fae kingdom of Elvalon withdrew support and engaged in active war to stop the production of the quartz battery. A long and bloody war ensued, escalating to a world war. The batteries were used to drain the Aethyric Whirlpools to power the war machine and growing cities until it was too late. 
The world's balance collapsed, the circulating magic stagnant and pestilent. In denial, Edward began his campaign to fix it. One by one he tracked down the gods' Avatars and stole their powers for himself. Gwyn, the avatar of Myrada, was a necessary sacrifice. Her husband, Aren, protected her and their unborn children to his last breath. Try as he might, he was doomed to fail. Water dried, plants withered, rock crumbled, and air grew still. Life faded away, leaving nothing but dead earth around him, save for one. Myra , Aren's sister, had been gifted the power of Amynd. She engaged in combat with him, fighting for revenge and backed by an army of Shades. Myra lost, and with her dying breath cursed Edward as she had been meant to. With Amynd's blessing, Edward was in a way immortal. Time could no longer touch him. Possessed of blessings of other gods, he could sustain himself physically. And the monster was doomed to forever be alone on a dead world, punishment for his sins. Until he found a way out...

Edward is educated as required by Agaland's laws and further educated in military topics by his extensive military career.
