Human
Humans... How versatile, how adaptable. A natural curiosity, born to a world without gods. So pure... So... Maliable. - Toman Thurgood, suspected vessel of Ifira
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humans are the standard for judging a race to be "humanoid". Heights can vary widely, depending on region, clan, and heritage. They stand upright on two legs with flat feet ending in 5 toes. They have two arms, each ending in hands with five digits, the inner most digit being an opposable thumb. They generally have two eyes, a nose, a mouth, and two short rounded ears. Hair covers most of their bodies, however, most are very short, fine hairs that are practically invisible, save for the hair on the top of the head, the brow ridge, and pubic mound. Males tend to have darker hair than females on various parts of the body, including the face.
Genetics and Reproduction
Humans reproduce sexually, the female carrying on average a single offspring for approximately 280 days. Humans give birth to live young. The most recorded children born to a human woman in a single pregnancy is four, with all being tiny and struggling to survive.
Growth Rate & Stages
Humans experience few growth stages with little changes through them. They start as 'babies', tiny little misshapen turnip looking mewling poop and vomit machines that deprive those around them of sleep and sanity.
They graduate to 'toddler' when they reach about a year and a half to two years of age. They are capable of walking, learning to talk, curious, and testing boundaries of those around them. These are the formative years that shape their next stage.
Once they reach seven or eight years of age, they are considered children. They are more like their adult counterparts at this stage, though not yet having reached their full potential. This is the formative stage where the growing body and mind of the human is properly nourished.
Adolescents go through a change in their biology, their bodies changing to prepare for their reproductive cycles. With these changes comes various side effects. Pustules pop out all over their faces, they become moody and violent, the male's voice squeaks and cracks as it grows deeper, new hairs grow in some places and darkens in others. Particularly in males, this is the stage where they begin growing facial hair.
Adulthood is reached once their bodies have settled down from the changes of becoming young men and women, typically in their twenties. Adults are the peak stage of the human life cycle, lasting about twenty to thirty years.
Venerability sets in after the fifty year mark for most humans, some earlier or later depending on the level of care and self care they receive. They begin to lose strength and height at this stage, yet are at the peak of their mental fortitude.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Humans are omnivorous. Early observation on humans showed females more capable of picking out edible plant matter from poisonous ones, while men were more capable with bringing down prey, though both proved to be clever in trapping and fishing.
They have also figured out fermenting, drying, and storing food for the lean months and long travels.

History
It is known to the oldest of dwarves that humans are among the oldest sentient race on the planet and the blueprint for many other similar races. As described to the eldest of dwarves by Atlor, prior to his oath to not be involved in the worlds, he described how humans occurred naturally through a process called evolution.
The humans of today are, of course, still vastly different from their ancestors, but still human none the less. Unlike their cousins, they were not subjected to extreme evolutionary pressures by curious or malicious deities. However, without the meddling, they reached their potential much more slowly, arguably to their detriment. Other races each had very different reactions to the budding human race.
Ultimately, the youngest humans were either guided by the hands of further evolved races, such as the elves and low fae, or enslaved by those who deemed themselves stronger, such as orcs and high fae. From these interactions though, humans began to grow their own villages and cultures, interbreeding with their cousin races as well.
Remarkably, the enslaved humans and even the guided humans flipped the tables on their elder cousins and gained their freedom and independence, growing in numbers and establishing their own kingdoms and nations. They continue to blaze their own paths and forge their own destinies.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
As current stands, Humans in general are wary of 'non human' races for various stereotypical reasons.
Faylus are thought to be stupid barbarians.
Elves are thought to be 'up on a high horse' as they say.
Orcs are thought to be cheats and untrustworthy.
Kindlings are thought to be theives, liars, frauds, and scoundrels, but just above Orcs.
I confess I've never had the stomach to ask humans how they view Dwarves.
