Emperor Baul Carnago
The ruler of Syndal and head of the Syndalan Coalition during the Syndalan-Orlendian war, Baul Carnago was the reincarnation of Vada, the Supradian god of destruction and suffering.

Personal history
Baul was born on a Kelbrikan research ship. It was wrecked on the coast of Tekam in stormy weather, leaving the father dead. The mother, with the newly born child, decided to look for help inland. It came in the form of a clan of Orcs. They took both of them in, but the mother died from a wound from the ship that got infected soon after, leaving the Clan to raise the child alone. He proved to be an effective hunter, and even more effective warrior. HThis was due to his incredible capacity to thought, which led to him being able to develop an understanding of magic by his adulthood. However, he quickly began to abuse this power. He had grown to desire power, and wanted to unify Tekam, with him as the ruler. He used the threat of his abilities to expand his army, taking on several clans. Eventually, he had taken all of Tekam. He then set his sights on Syndal, the home of the Elves. With the Elves' limited military prowess, the invasion went without a hitch. He came to rule both Tekam and Syndal by the time he was 25, becoming the emperor of the Syndalan Empire.
When he was 38, he reached something of a plateau in his power. This was around the same time as he began a period of militarism, planning on the invasion of parts of Orlend. Frustrated by his ability to increase his power, he turned his sights on Staema Alera, the last surviving totem from before the War of the Gods. At the same time, Jay Spinner had set out to Syndal to kill him. While Baul survived the attack, he lost control of Staema Alera and it became apparent that he was in danger of a potential assassination. He continued his militarism, still planning on an invasion of Orlend. He formed military alliances with Gaen, Yannurrin, and parts of Kirine. This group became known as the Collective Forces. After a further two years of conflict, nations in Orlend banded together for an invasion of Syndal. During this invasion, he once again was confronted by Jay. He died at Jay's hands in 1587.
