In the continent of Iberrios tales are told of brave heroes, heavily guarded fortifications, and coalitions of armies. However, only the most savvy of political strategists know that that the tides of war are decided by the faction's economy. Over the course of the continent's history a group of powerful entrepreneurs have banded together to form a guild called the Platinum Patrons. 
The members of this guild span different sectors, from mining, to agriculture, to fishing, and trade just to name a few. These entrepreneurs make up about 40% of the continent's income. As such they are able to fund and influence the economy, kingdoms, and wars. 
The name Platinum Patrons was coined after Platinum is the highest form of currency, and Patrons because as a group and individual they invest in different enterprises.
One of their most lucrative ideas was the Trago, a travelling wagon that buys and sells goods all over the continent. They are also involved with the funding of research and development on the use of magical leylines as a viable energy source.
